Coulda been a great story...

...but it's not, really. Last week on Kim's walk home from school she and Andrea were minding their own business on a rather windy day. Kim got something in her eye, the left one, and closed it for a second (while continuing to walk) and BAM...right into the back of a truck...yes a parked truck on the corner of our street! This is a few hours after she had iced it and stopped crying!
This is Day 3 when the swelling settled in and the black eye began to form. In order for her to see you she had to tip her head up so she could see through the slit in her swollen eye!
Day 10 was Halloween and we joked that she should have been a boxer to trick-or-treat. Instead we put a little purple eyeshadow on the non-injured eye to help them both match better. Her right cheek was still swollen and sensitive as was the quarter sized knot still there above her right eyebrow. Oh well...coulda been a great story!

Happy Halloween

Aaron, Taylor and Bradley gave Grandma Jill the "My Little Buttercup" dance routine as a great big thank you for all her hard work on their costumes.
And Kim gave her a great big thank you, too!
This was across the street at Wayne's house in his "electric chair".
After trick-or-treating we had a few friends over for chili, nachos and hot chocolate. Aaron and Kim did some candy sorting...with Mom and Dad's help. We had to make sure all the Butterfingers and Milky Way were safe...oh and the Almond Joy!
We actually carved our jack-o-lanterns in time for Halloween this year. Jaimee grew some white pumpkins and the kids carved those! (Not that you can tell in the dark).
Mom's jack-o-lantern.
Aaron's on the left (his was double-sided) and Kim's on the right.

Run the River, another half-marathon!

We've been training for months, it hardly seems real that today is the day...13.1 miles, ready or not. It was an early morning drop off by Devin (thanks for the ride). Left to right is Brian, Robin, Me, Terry, Jaimee and Juliann.
It was difficult to get in the groove, but finally it happened. It was a painful run, even more painful when the aid stations didn't have our water bottles we had left at the drop boxes. Sheesh!
But we finished strong, 2 hours, 16 minutes and 8 seconds. Beat our last time, Yahoo!

Terry crossing the line.

Afterwards we all went to In-and-Out burger for some serious burgers. We deserved it!

TP'd...again!

Better start cleaning Aaron!
This is the "sweet" little note that was taped to our front door...
I guess it all comes in the territory of having a teenager living here...

Terry's 39th Birthday

For Terry's birthday we met some friends for dinner and then went to see WICKED, it was awesome! We all loved it so much we bought the music CD and sang along the rest of the night!
At Brazilian BBQ for dinner in San Francisco before going to WICKED.

After we came home we celebrated with the kids and had cake and ice cream with them, too!
