Aaron and Papa Doug...watch out!

Does this look like work to you?  Papa Doug asked Aaron to come help him at Sally's house...looks like more fun than work to me...

...especially when work is followed up by a golf game!

Aaron didn't realize that the red area was a pond...oops, wet and cold!

Good thing Papa Doug had a pair of shorts in his van...still had wet socks though!

37 "B's"

For my birthday I received a special delivery Big Box from the Davis family.  It was full of 37 items that represent the letter B...for my 37th birthday, in case I needed to reminded that I was now 37!  Bubble Bath, BBQ sauce, Beans, Banana, Breath mints, Body spray...

BBQ chips, Brown Bear, Baskin Robbins gift card, Brush...

Bubbles, Bouncy Ball, glass Bowl, Beef jerky, Baseball ice pack, Bell (to ring for service)...

oops...sideways...Bath pillow, Body massager, Balloons, Barnum animal cookies...
Bagels, Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, Bandaids, Bobbins, Bunny (chocolate)...

Boston Baked Beans, Blueberry muffins, Ball point pens, Buttons, Baking soda...

Butterfly wand, Brownie Mix, Bug fruit snacks...just a few of them.  It came with an awesome card written with lots of "B" words, should've typed it in here, but thanks guys, it was great!

Tuesday was 17x2 (twice!)

I've been feeling bad about all the blogging I'm NOT doing for my family...however, my Preschool blog is up-to-date!  Now to catch up here for "Whatevers".  I wonder where does my time go?  So quickly and each day is over again.  As I look back on yesterday...it was 17 students in 2 preschool classes, then 17 quarts of tomatoes canned with the help of 2 neighbors (and my 2 available family members).  Another long day, come and gone!
I left Kimberlee's "snowman" tomato right in front...his stem makes a perfect bow tie.
I promise to catch up this blog...soon!

Labor Day Bike Ride 2010

Here we are at the starting point...ready, set, go!
Flat tire in the middle of DPH, great!

At Discovery Park after our flat fixed...Aaron takes a break!
When we arive in Old Sac the whole town is really "Old Sac" with dirt on the roads, covered parking meters (because there is no parking), horses with carriages, old "taverns" and booths.  We saw this English lace being made...with thread, amazing!

Gun fights in the middle of the streets.

Aaron and Kim were more interested in the rubber band guns, on steroids!

Of course Dad tries another Texas Hot Tamale (we all did, too) and guess what?!
They're still HOT!
Now...off to Papa's Pizzeria to meet April and her family!
Round trip (not counting the back and forth seeking help for flat tire) = 23 miles!

Totally...WICKED!

Terry and I went to see Wicked for his 39th birthday, and we LOVED it.  So this time, we took Lorraine and the kids...and they LOVED it.  It was a great night!
Aaron slept on the drive down...
While Kimberlee sang along to the music CD with the words.

Girl's weekend in Ashland, OR

We have arrived!  After a stop at Tummy's for pastrami sandwiches Shari and I picked up Stephanie from the airport and drove to Ashland.  We met Casey here trying to smoke out the cabin.  She couldn't start a fire and made a mess!  We relaxed a bit and just "caught up" with each other.  It's been years since the Four Amigas were reunited.  We stayed up late and ate at the local diner, really because there were no other options!

We set our alarms and woke up early to be late to meet our tour guide for our white water rafting adventure down the Rogue River...trying to not look nervous.

Here we are ready (with all our safety gear)...watch out river...here we come!

Steph and Shari

Me and Casey

We rode down this location in the river...woo-hoo!

Some of the pretty wildlife in bloom...poppies!

After our river ride we walked through the pretty town of Ashland through a local fair, ate some yummy food and looked and funky booths of crafts.

In front of our cabin, ready to hike!

Huffing and puffing half way up to Upper Table Rock.

We made it to the top!

...and back down again!  Two days and two nights was not enough time to get back together, but we'll take whatever we can get since the four of us live in three different states now.  Jr. High was soooo long ago!

Shari and I drove Steph to meet her parents in Shasta and her beautiful baby Cate!  Next she'll fly back home to Maryland.  Love you girls!

Annual Memorial Day Bike Ride 2010

Ready...Set...Go!  Here we are again in the parking lot of the Rio Linda Community Center.  This is where we begin our 23 mile bike ride into Discovery Park and on to Old Sacramento.
Here's Aaron...being a show off!

...and here's the rest of us!

Stopping along the way for a quick snack.

When my brother David saw this picture (below) he asked if we were sitting at the "Special Table" since we were all wearing our helmets, "Of course" I said, "we are all special!"

Inside our favorite shop in Old Sac...the Candy Store.  The store worker asked if we wanted to try a Texas Size Hot Tamale.  I LOVE Hot Tamales, so I said yes...and my eyes began to water immediately, Aaron and Kim, too!
After we are done here, we head back into Rio Linda for the best pizza and breadsticks in the world at Papa's Pizzeria!
