Baseball Season Has Begun!

Here is Aaron getting ready for his first High School Baseball Scrimmage Game! Since the beginning of February he has been at after school practice five days a week!
Playing third base...

Heart Attack!

You know you have great friends when this is the kind of heart attack they give you. After waking to a yard full of hearts and hearing the excitement from my preschool class our family gathered up the hearts and delivered a "heart attack" to some friends...of course it was in the pouring rain! But to no avail, within one week we received another "heart attack"! I guess you can never have too much of a good thing!

Aaron builds again!

While on a vacation day Aaron and his friend Taylor (who lives across the street) were "bothering" Taylor's mom. She told them to "go read or something". So...they decided to build a bench that they could sit on and read. Aaron worked on it after Taylor had to go and finished this project. It's not terribly sturdy, but he's still proud of his workmanship. Not so sure that Cuckoo David would approve!
Working in the garage with lots of scrap wood and screws. Most of the wood came from another neighbor's house from a junk pile. Some came from our old fence.
How does it look?
I think Aaron's Computer Engineering class at school has really given him the thinking bug. He's been creating pea-shooters and all kinds of weapons with odd-ball items. This catapult actually got Terry involved when Aaron couldn't finish it. This was one crazy Sunday afternoon project!
Once again, the garage becomes a woodshop!
Boys will be boys!
"pouting and whining" when it wouldn't work the first, or second, or third time!

The Big Island...Aloha!

While my brother David was living on the Big Island and working on his organic farm I had a chance to visit him. I flew over with my mom and we were gone for five days. Not quite long enough to see all the island, I guess I'll have to go back!

My Mom, David's girlfriend Jill, my brother David and me!
I captured a piece of heaven with my camera!
Just being silly!
Checking out the ruins!

While near the beach the storm rolled in, just like something you would see in a movie!
The storm got us...and our suitcase...and our clothes. Our bags were placed just inside David's cottage, right near the screened wall, of course! We hung our clothes over the railing upstairs in the loft to TRY and let them dry in the rain and humidity.
Everything was SOAKED, even our magazines and books!
Akaka Falls...
Inisde the lava tubes...

Outside on the property, David showing us his garden....

One of the three falls on "the farm".
Hanging out in PJs in the morning near the falls.
This is why we call him "Cuckoo David"!
The view from David's cottage on the farm.

Not a monkey...this is David climbing for lilikoi fruit!

It was harder getting down than up, thanks Dave!

Entance sign to one of the lava tubes we walked through with our headlamps!

Our luxurious accomodations for our stay...Dave's place.
The outdoor (and only) shower we enjoyed...ha ha ha
The kitchen area, note the red fridge (aka ice chest).
The one and only sink...
Where Dave and Jill slept...I love the skateboard being used to prop up the end of the futon mattress. The red shelves are actually the "staircase" to the loft where Mom and I slept.
The princess bed that mom and I shared (aka mosquito net).
Volcanic destruction...
My volcano throne!
Petroglyphs in the lava. This was pretty cool!
This road is closed, in case you couldn't have figured that out on your own!
