California State Fair 2009

"Weird, Wild & Wacky" was the theme for the California State Fair this year. We think it lived up to its name. We picked the kids up from their half days at school and went straight to the Fair.

Grandma Weaver even had the day off to go with us, too!
We found Papa Doug and Auntie April's PEZ collection right away. It was fun to hang out near the display and listen to people's comments as they walked by.
We wanted to see "Jeremy the Juggler" and finally found him on the street. Aaron was worried that while we were watching him that we were going to miss his show. He didn't know that the street juggler was Jeremy the Juggler. It was really funny!
Joshua on top of Aaron.
Kim makes a basketball shot with the Sacramento Kings!

The fire-eating freaks were freaks! Their "dance" routine was weird, wild and wacky for sure...actually kinda scary. We left their show early and I didn't even feel a bid bad about it!
Then we found the tree-climbers and had a turn using the ropes pulley system to climb. It wasn't hard after you figured out the system, but it still used your upper body strength and some coordination!
Kim went pretty high!
Jadon gets his harness on.

And of course one of the best parts of the fair is the fair food! Kim looked all over for her favorite shoe string french fries. Julina was glad to help her eat them.

Aaron found the BBQ turkey leg.
While we were eating we finally caught up with April and her family. Audrey put her Auggie Dolly on the seat to relax with her and Kim...
...and then Westley joined in!

Tucker and I say Cheese!

It was a great day at the Fair, never long enough when kids still have homework. Thanks Grandma Jill for treating us again this year!
